Junior Trip To Shawnee Lookout 10:30-2:00 (10:30 am - 2:00 pm)
The Junior Classes are going to Shawnee Lookout on Wednesday, October 27th.  We will leave school at 10:30 am.  Once we arrive, we will eat lunch together outside and then have some time to play and explore a portion of this beautiful Hamilton County park!  The Junior teachers will then combine our children into three groups for a program that begins at about 12:30 pm.  Each group will get to experience a bit of what it was to be a child in southwest Ohio during the frontier days of the early 1800s.  The naturalists who put on this program are terrific story tellers and are able to bring this slice of history to life in a way that is hard to duplicate elsewhere.  The children will experience what it was to be a child in a one room school house, what their life (and responsibilities) would have been in a typical wood home of the time, and learn a bit about how early pioneers made their living as well as built their fires, planted and harvested and much more!  We will head back to school at 2:00 in order that we may all catch our rides home at the end of the school day.
